STARTUP IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM

Should we build a wet lab
for early-stage biotech in
British Columbia?

Athanor Scientific is exploring whether to establish a shared, subsidized wet lab facility for early-stage biotech teams. Your input determines if this moves forward.

THE PROBLEM

Lab access shouldn't be the thing that stops you

For early-stage biotech teams, securing wet lab space is one of the hardest steps between idea and experiment. Existing options are expensive, require long-term commitments, and are concentrated in a handful of cities.

We think there's a better model. Shared, accessible lab space designed specifically for teams that are just getting started. Not a coworking space with a centrifuge. A real facility where early research can happen.

Part of what makes this model possible is an educational mission. The facility is being designed to include an internship program that connects young students with working biotech teams. You get access to affordable lab space, and in return, you help train the next generation of scientists.

THE FACILITY
BSL-1, with potential for BSL-2

Biosafety level will be shaped by community demand.

British Columbia, Canada

A new option outside the usual biotech hubs.

Subsidized access

Designed to remove cost as a barrier for early-stage teams.

We also develop scientific tools and software for researchers. More on this soon.

This only happens if there's demand

We're running a short survey to gauge interest and understand what early-stage biotech teams actually need from a lab facility. Your responses directly shape whether this gets built, and how.

We'll follow up with respondents as plans develop.
